A metro link between Faridabad and Gurugram is possible now. After a DPR is finalized and approved, work on the project will begin in the coming months. According to reports, the project has been approved by the Haryana government.
This project will be beneficial for both cities. It will also improve connectivity between Delhi and the rest of the National Capital Region. Haryana’s two cities will have high-speed connectivity due to this project.
Both cities are important residential and business hubs for Delhi and the National Capital Region. The pollution levels between the two cities will be reduced due to this Metro connectivity. It will also help to ease traffic between the two cities.
This project could provide Metro connectivity to Delhi-NCR, Faridabad, and Gurugram. People in the Delhi NCR will be able to travel between Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad, and Gurugram with comfort. According to reports, the Haryana government has completed the DPR for the proposed Metro project.
Faridabad and Gurugram Metro will be built through the Delhi-NIT assembly area and Piyali Chowk. There will be 32.14 kilometers route between the two stations.
The route will include a total of 12 intermediate stations. These are the ones from Faridabad: Bata Chowk, Pyali Chowk, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg, Barkhal Enclave, Pali Chowk, and Police Chowki Mangar.
Metro stations will be built in Gurugram at Gwal Pahari, Sector-56, Sushant Lok, Sushant Lok- Phase III, Rosewood City, and Vatika Chowk.
CM Manohar Lal Khattar announced this project in 2016, as the proposed linking of Faridabad to Gurugram through Metro would reduce vehicular traffic between the two major cities. In the absence of a public transport system on this route, a large number of people travel every day with personal vehicles for work.
