According to persons with knowledge of the situation, the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change has given the ambitious Global City project in Gurugram, Haryana, environmental permission.
The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) is in charge of carrying out the project. The HSIIDC’s Global City is being developed in Gurugram’s sectors 36B, 37A, and 37B, close to the Dwarka Expressway, which opened recently.
1000-Acre Global City Gurugram Offers Business Zones, And Residential Areas
There will be residential areas, business zones, and industrial clusters all throughout the approximately 1000 acres that make up the Global City.
The Global City project has got the much-needed environmental clearance from the Union Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change. This change will allow the project to expand flawlessly and accelerate the rate at which work is done on the ground.
A public notice related to the project’s environmental clearance has also been released by HSIIDC, according to an HSIIDC representative.
Global City Project First Phase Is Spread Over 587 Acres
According to him, the action would also facilitate the involvement of more development partners and investors in the Global City initiative.
According to officials, the Haryana government has also begun work on creating the infrastructural amenities in the project’s designated area as part of phase-1 of Global City. Conceptualized in 2019, the first phase of the Global City project saw the awarding of a tender in September 2023.
According to the official, phase 1 would involve the construction of roads, power, water supply, and other facilities over 587 acres by December 2026 at a projected cost of Rs 940 crore.
According to authorities, the project would involve building 13 km of internal roadways, a 26 km storm water drain network, a 12 km recycled water pipeline, a 12 km potable water network, a landscape spanning 82 acres, and a 10 km utility tunnel.
Facilities Offered At Global City Gurugram
One of the distinctive features of the Global City, according to authorities, would be a “utility tunnel” under the highways. Utilities of various kinds, such as phone, power, and water lines, will use this tunnel. They said that once such a tunnel is in place, road excavation won’t be necessary to fix problems or update the utility network.
Bicyclists and pedestrians will have their own paths in the Global City. Numerous public transportation options, including the Gurugram-Bawal metro line and the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), are anticipated to traverse the city.
Global City Will Be Connected Through International Bus Terminal
The development of interstate and intercity bus terminals close to the township would improve the area’s connectivity. Both 45-meter-wide sub-arterial roads and 60-meter-wide arterial highways will be present.
According to officials, Global City is intended as an independent township that prioritizes cutting-edge industries and contemporary technology, as well as low-carbon, environmentally friendly infrastructure, convenience of living, skill development, and job creation.
Global City Gurugram Is Emerges As The Business Hub
According to a government spokeswoman, the state government has increased HSIIDC’s operating capital limit by 1,500 crores in a related development to support infrastructure development in the Global City and IMT Sohna.
The Global City is anticipated to grow into a hub of innovation and advancement in the area as it develops, drawing opportunities, capital, and talent from all across the nation.
