Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer, has leased 270,000 square feet of space in Tag Avenue, commercial building in Gurgaon, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had urged last year that their office is relocated to Gurgaon. For that the government allocates 900 acres of land to Maruti Suzuki India Limited and Suzuki Two Wheeler India Private Limited.

The company’s corporate headquarters are currently located on Nelson Mandela Marg in New Delhi, and it also has an office at Udyog Vihar in Gurgaon.

The Haryana government is developing an industrial and commercial town on 3,300 acres at Kharkhoda (Sonipat) and an industrial model town (IMT) on nearly 1,400 acres in Sohna.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. is constructing a project at IMT Kharkhoda with a Rs 18,000 crore investment, while Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. is establishing a project with a Rs 1,466 crore investment.

According to worldwide property consultant Cushman & Wakefield, gross leasing in the Delhi NCR was 3.4 million square feet in Q3-2023, a 4% decrease on a quarterly basis and an 11% decrease when compared to Q3-2022.

However, gross lease volume in Q3-2023 was in line with the quarterly average of the previous eight quarters, implying continuing demand in the region.

Fresh leases accounted for 59% of the quarterly activity. Pre-commitments increased in share this quarter, accounting for 33% of lease activity, while term renewals accounted for only 8% of total activity.

Gurugram continues to account for 74% of leasing activity, driven by submarkets such as Cyber City, NH8 Prime, and Golf Course Road Extension. Noida, on the other hand, accounted for 24% of leasing activity, with Noida Expressway and Noida City 2 being the most important submarkets.
