The Delhi Haryana RapidX Line Will Enter Gurgaon From Aerocity To Cyber Hub

Rapidx Line

The projected Delhi-Haryana RapidX corridor’s alignment has undergone significant revisions, with the entire Gurgaon section running along the highway (NH-8) with stations at Cyber Hub, Rajiv Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, and Kherki Daula.

Previously, the corridor ran along the Old Delhi-Gurgaon route, connecting NH-8 just at Signature Towers. The altered path will see the RapidX corridor approach Gurgaon from Aerocity, with Cyber Hub serving as the city’s first station. This, however, will demand a new detailed project report (DPR), which will cause the project’s deadline to be pushed back.

According to the current plan, the RapidX track will stretch from Aerocity to Cyber Hub along the Delhi-Jaipur expressway. It will travel from Cyber Hub to the other side of the freeway till Kherki Daula, where a three-level underground station will be built.

The following three stations, Manesar, Pachgaon, and Dharuhera, will be at ground level. Unlike the original plan, which saw the 107km-long corridor conclude at the Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror (SNB) metropolitan complex in Rajasthan, the track will end at Dharuhera.

This will cut the corridor length by about 80 kilometers, with 60 kilometers in Haryana’s Gurgaon and Rewari districts. The stations Cyber Hub, Rajiv Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, and Kherki Daula will go underground.

The previous route ran from Aerocity to the Kapashera border, then to Atul Kataria Chowk along the Old Delhi-Gurgaon road. To get to Kherki Daula, it was suggested to go through Signature Towers and Rajiv Chowk.

Which Of The Following Is Among The Priority Corridors For Rapidx Line?

The Delhi leg of the corridor will remain intact, beginning at Sarai Kale Khan, where the Haryana line and the Delhi-Meerut RapidX corridor will intersect, and ending at Aerocity through Jor Bagh and Munirka. The entire length of Delhi will be subterranean.

According to TOI, the original intention was to take the corridor along the expressway, but the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) refused because it had plans for enlargement and further construction.

NHAI is allowed the RapidX line to run along the expressway and has taken its approval to the NCR Transport Corporation, so the changes have been implemented easily. “The corridor will serve a large number of office workers in the Cyber City area,” stated a transport ministry official.

The NCRTC, which is constructing the RapidX corridor, is working on the new DPR. It has already completed pre-construction work on the previous alignment, including utility relocation and encroachment clearance along the Old Delhi-Gurgaon road. The corporation’s officials declined to comment on the route adjustment.

CM Manohar Lal Khattar accused the Delhi government for the delays in progress on the Delhi-Gurgaon-SNB and Delhi-Sonipat routes in July of this year. Khattar claimed that the Delhi government had created impediments in these two routes and proposed that the Gurgaon route begin at Aerocity.

What Is The Revised Plan For The Rapidx Line?

According to the revised plan, the RapidX track will run along the Delhi-Jaipur expressway, from Aerocity to Cyber Hub. It will switch to the opposite side of the freeway from Cyber Hub till Kherki Daula, where a three-level underground station will be built.

Manesar, Pachgaon, and Dharuhera are three stations that will be at ground level. Unlike the prior arrangement, the track would now end at Dharuhera slightly than the Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror urban complex in Rajasthan, cutting the corridor to about 80km, with 60km covering in the districts of Gurgaon and Rewari.

Cyber Hub, Rajiv Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, and Kherki Daula are among the underground stations.

What Is The Reason For The Change In Rapidx Line?

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) initially opposed the original plans for the corridor route to be created alongside the Dwarka Expressway due to expansion and other added work.

However, the NHAI has now approved approval for the RapidX line to operate beside the expressway, according to a transport ministry official. This consent was communicated to the NCR Transport Corporation (NCRTC), which resulted in the amendments being enacted.
