The Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC), announced that the foundation work for the proposed Metro extension from Ballabhgarh to Palwal, covering a distance of about 25 km, and the RITES has been given the contract for the techno feasibility study.
The RITES has been asked to make the detailed project report (DPR) for the new Metro rail project from Vatika Chowk, Sohna Road to Pachgaon in Gurugram.
The Three Major Metro Links In Gurugram
One of the three Metro lines in Gurugram that will be put to service in the current fiscal is the line that runs from Vatika Chowk on Sohna Road to Pachgaon in Manesar.
At the time of state budget announcement for 2023-2024, the work on three metro links- Rezangla chowk to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, Southern Peripheral Road through Global City to Pachgaon in Manesar, and the extension work of Bahadurgarh Metro up to Asaudha that connects the Haryana Orbital Rail Network and Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway will be taken up in 2023-2024.
Metro Line From Huda City Centre To Cyber City
The extension of the Metro network from HUDA City Centre to Cyber City in Gurgaon, a 28.5 km route, was previously approved by the union cabinet in June 2023. Over the following four years, 27 new stations would be built at an estimated cost of Rs 5,452.7 crore.
Basai Village will be connected to the Dwarka Expressway by a 1.85-kilometre offshoot that has one stop. The main corridor, which runs from HUDA City Centre to Cyber City, will be 26.65 km long and have 26 stations.
The project is expected to be finished in four years from the date of sanction and will be carried out by the HMRTCL.
Along with providing a connection to the Indian Railways, the metro line seeks to link Old and New Gurgaon. The network will be connected to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport during the next phase.
