The Haryana Real Estate Appellate Tribunal (HREAT) has collected Rs. 39.88 crore, and the Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (HRERA), Gurugram, has recovered Rs. 8.61 crore from negligent developers and reimbursed buyers over the last four years, from 2019 to May 2023.
For the purpose of the recovery process, the HRERA has been pursuing the involved district collector offices. A HRERA document states that from 2019 to May 31 it repaid buyers a total of Rs 39,88,44,778 crores, and that from 2020 to May 31 customers received Rs 8, 61,19,277 crores via the HRERA court.
The HRERA claimed that throughout the recovery process, warrants had also been issued to other promoters. In the meantime, the HRERA in Gurugram declared that in the past five years, it had rendered more than 7,000 judgements.
The court has made decisions on 4,115 cases involving charges of delayed possession as of February 2023. More than 3.5 lakh units in various projects registered with the HRERA are reportedly directly under its monitoring, according to officials.
Promoters have already delivered more than 2.54 lakh units to allottees. The HRERA Gurugram received 25,509 complaints, of which 12,640 were taken up by the complainants in court, and the remaining 12,869 were resolved between the parties outside of court thanks to HRERA’s assistance.
