The Railway India Technical and Economic Service (RITES), was awarded the contract to compile a detailed project report (DPR) for this project earlier this year, has prepared the draft alignment of the proposed Metro line from Vatika Chowk Gurgaon to Pachgaon (Manesar).
According to senior officials of the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC), a meeting to review the proposed alignment will be held in Gurugram. The meeting will be attended by officials from the NHAI, NCRTC, HRIDC, GMDAs, and RITES, among others.
The Vatika Chowk to Pachgaon Metro line will be 30 kilometers long, in addition to the 28-kilometer-long Huda City Centre to CyberHub Metro line, which will connect the Old Gurugram districts and the Dwarka Expressway with the Delhi Metro via a loop.
According to a letter given by HMRTC to several agencies on September 5, “HMRTC has engaged RITES to prepare DPR for the metro corridor from Vatika Chowk to Pachgaon (Manesar).” HMRTC intends to organize a stakeholder’s consultation meeting to present the draft alignment generated by RITES and solicit feedback and ideas from all stakeholders.”
According to Karan Singh, HMRTC’s director of operations and business development, a complete project study for the Vatika Chowk to Pachgaon corridor is being prepared. “There are regular meetings in this regard, as the RITES is preparing the DPR,” he stated.
Kaushal further stated that the Metro extension project is significant because it would serve as a test case for the Haryana government, which has made a solid commitment to completing the project in the shortest period possible.
RITES will prepare the DPR, according to Haryana chief secretary Sanjeev Kaushal, who stated this on July 25 during the 53rd board meeting of the HMRTC. He also stated that the same organization will prepare the DPR for the Ballabhgarh-Palwal metro project, which is also in the pipeline.
