Prime Minister Narendra Modi Laid The Foundation Of Gurugram Metro Rail Project
Our aim to begin work on the Gurugram metro rail project as soon as possible, and these tenders will be chosen for that purpose next month. The metro will be built to provide the entire city with an integrated “end-to-end” transportation system.
We will collaborate with the GMDA and other regional organizations while building the metro to guarantee that last-mile transportation options, including as buses and rickshaws, are provided.
Instead of utilizing their cars, commuters would be able to simply walk to and from the metro stations because to their design and location, according to Khare.
GMRL Employ Technical Specialists To Assist With Gurugram Metro Rail Project
According to the managing director, the GMRL will soon have an organization and employ technical specialists to assist with project execution. “By the end of next month, the geotechnical work awarded for the first 13 kilometers will have been completed to a 70% degree.
In order to move the project forward, several of these advancements are happening at once, and our experts will be employed shortly, according to Khare. Khare also spoke with G Thara, the chairman of GMRL, in Delhi earlier on Friday on the future direction of the metro project in the city.
The chairman’s main goal is to make the Gurugram metro a welcoming, inclusive, and easily accessible transportation option, particularly for women, kids, the elderly, and those with disabilities. The metro rail project’s design will guarantee that the needs of Gurugram’s citizens are satisfied through good engineering practices.”
GMRL Will See The Transit-Oriented Development On The Metro Line
According to Khare, GMRL will also see to it that the transit-oriented development (TOD) strategy is applied to the development of regions next to metro stations and along the metro line. In order to enable people to walk to work, he stated, “the aim will be to promote more residential and commercial development along metro route.”
Khare stated that he has visited the suggested locations in Sectors 102 and 33 for the Gurugram metro’s depot. After a thorough debate with the consultants, local authorities, the GMRL board, and the state government, a decision will be made.
Gurugram Metro Rail Project Will Have 80 Kms Speed
“For now, we are examining the suggested alignment, the viability of the locations of the planned metro stations, and the entire Gurugram metro system,” he stated. Higher Floor Area Ratios (FAR) and Floor Space Indexes (FSI) are available for real estate construction along the route of mass transit lines under the TOD policy.
Trains in the Gurugram Metro project will have a top speed of 80 kmph and a planned speed of 90 kmph. The primary metro corridor, which would connect places like Subash Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, sector 4/5, Palam Vihar, and Cyber Hub, will run from Millennium City Center to Cyber City, Gurgaon (26.65 km).
Along the 1.85-kilometer Dwarka Expressway, it would also pass through Basai Village. At the Belvedere Towers and Moulsari Avenue stations, there will be track integration with Rapid Metro.
