The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is projected to begin building four-foot overbridges (FOBs) on the stretch this year and have them completed by the end of 2024 in order to facilitate safe and simple movement of pedestrians on the busy Golf Course Road.
According to the GMDA approved plan, these pedestrian-friendly structures will be built to minimize fatal pedestrian accidents. One of the busiest sections of Gurgaon, Golf Course Road lacks pedestrian crossings and footpaths, making it challenging for people to walk the 10 km stretch.
Four locations in Gurugram with high pedestrian traffic will get pedestrian-friendly structures built. These locations include Bristol Chowk, the intersection of Chakkarpur Village and Ashoka Crescent Marg, the Paras Downtown building, and the vicinity of Times Centre.
Since thousands of workers live on both sides of the road and must cross it every day to get to work. According to GMDA officials, the FOBs will prevent people from crossing in the middle of traffic movement.
We have already given the roadmap for the final approval to build the four FOBs. One of the sites locations has been altered. The design for one of the proposed foot overbridges at Chakkarpur has also been received.
Construction of these FOBs will minimize accidents involving pedestrians. In addition, according to Gayatri Paul, CEO of the DLF Foundation, they intend to construct foot overbridges to ensure the convenience of pedestrian movement.
The goal is to construct these foot overbridges as soon as possible, but the busy road makes it challenging to carry out the work. The planning and design phase for these FOBs is currently underway, and the planners must consider the movement of vehicles and the Metro line. яндекс
Most likely, the work will begin this year and be finished by the end of 2024. These foot overbridges also guarantee that individuals can cross the service roads and the main carriageways securely.
