People in Delhi and Noida will soon be able to take the metro from New Delhi Railway Station directly to Greater Noida. The Uttar Pradesh government’s proposed rail link, according to DMRC, will provide last-mile metro connectivity until the Noida International Airport in Jewar.
The DMRC signed an agreement with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority on Tuesday to prepare a detailed project report for the proposed metro rail link’s construction.
In its presentation to YEIDA officials, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) stated that it will take one hour to cover the 37 km distance over 11 stations. The rail line will be between Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park area and New Delhi Railway Station.
Separately, Shailendra Bhatia, YEIDA’s officer on special duty and nodal officer for the Noida Airport, stated that the plan is to provide passengers with seamless connectivity between the two airports, which are approximately 75 kilometres apart.
“There will be two metro rail stretches developed in this section: one between Noida Airport and Knowledge Park, and the other from Knowledge Park to New Delhi Railway Station. There is already a connection from New Delhi Railway Station to the Airport Express for Delhi Airport “According to Bhatia.
According to the statement, DMRC officials informed YEIDA during the presentation that the proposed metro route between the Noida International Airport in Jewar and the Indira Gandhi International Airport can be connected via the New Delhi Railway Station.
“In addition, passengers will be able to check in for Noida International Airport at various stations along this airport line. In the presentation, it was also informed by DMRC officials that the distance between the two airports will be about 1 hour due to the construction of this new metro route, “the statement mentioned.
The total number of proposed stations for this route is 11. The proposed distance between Knowledge Park in Greater Noida and New Delhi Railway Station is approximately 37 kilometres, with 3 kilometres underground and 34 kilometres elevated.
