The wait for hundreds of homebuyers of Vipul World, a housing society situated on Sohna Road, Gurugram for new electricity connections is to be expected to end soon. This is as the developer has finally submitted the necessary bank guarantee of about Rs 10 crore to DHBVN.
Around 18 months back, the DISCOM had stopped allotting fresh connections to the housing societies if they have deficit power infrastructure. DHBVN had also requested the project developer to present the bank guarantee and dedicate 500 square yards of land for making a 33KV substation.
The Vipul World developer had earlier handed over the compulsory land to the DISCOM. However, the issue related to the change of land use (CLU) is still pending with the department of town and country planning.
“According to the statement the submission of the bank guarantee was pending, which has been submitted now,” the developer, said in its letter to DHBVN on Monday.
More than 500 people who have bought builder floor in the housing society are unable to move into their new houses because of lack of secure power connection.
“After several months of struggle and waiting,” said Jaiveer Yadav, RWA president of Vipul World Blocks B, C, and D, “we are hoping to get a new electricity connection.”
PK Chauhan, supervising engineer of DHBVN’s Gurugram Circle-2, stated that bank assurance was the top priority.
“The Change of Land Use (CLU) of this plot is still under observation; but the developer will be ready to offer a protection bond on the bank guarantee, to provide the new electricity connections will be released to Vipul World society.”
