Minimum Requirement For Registering Plots Reduced To 100 Square Yards In Gurugram

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) announced that plots even have 100 square yards of the area can be regularised. The state government has taken the step to stop mushrooming illegal colonies in Gurgaon. 

MCG commissioner PC Meena stated before that the regularisation and subdivision were permitted for plots with a minimum area of 200 square yards, but this has been reduced to 100 square yards.

The Haryana government issued a fresh notification regarding the subdivision of 100 square yards plot is permitted for regularisation. The application for the regularisation of subdivided plots will be submitted to the MCG commissioner. 

The plot owner has to get the building plan approvals per the Haryana Building Code 2017. The MCG commissioner also said that “The front setback of the subdivided plot should be the same as the original plot”.

The urban local bodies department has ordered that the minimum plot size eligible for regularisation and new sub-division be 100 square yards or greater and that the size of the sub-divided plot is no less than 50 square yards.

“The applicant shall apply to the competent authority, i.e. commissioner in the case of the municipal corporation and district municipal commissioner in the case of municipal council and committees, for regularisation of sub-divided plots in the prescribed format,” as per the notification issued on January 3.

The district administration also announced that illegal colonies outside municipal areas in the city can now apply for regularisation under the Haryana Management of Civic Amenities and Infrastructure Deficient Areas Outside Municipal Areas (Special Provisions) Act 2021 by January 18. The application can be either created by the developer or the Resident Welfare Association.
