According to Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav, illegal colonies located outside municipal areas in the city can now apply for regularisation by January 18 under the Haryana Management of Civic Amenities and Infrastructure Deficient Areas Outside Municipal Areas (Special Provisions) Act 2021. The developer or the resident’s association has to file the application. While the District Level Scrutiny Committee (DLSC) has received 38 applications for regularisation so far, the deputy commissioner has also stated that colonies that do not apply for regularisation by January 18 will be demolished.
“A total of 38 applications received, 19 were presented before the DLSC and sent to the government for required actions, while the others are required to provide more documents to justify the necessities or conditions,” said Yadav, who is also the chairman of the DLSC.
The government has divided illegal colonies into four categories for regularisation: category A for colonies with up to 25% built-up area, category B for colonies with 25% to 50% built-up area, category C for colonies with 50% to 75% built-up area, and category D for colonies with more than 75% built-up area.
The newly appointed DTP (E) Manish Yadav said on Tuesday that in the case of category A colony, all unbuilt plots would be subject to road widening, space for parks, waterworks, and community building.
Approximately 35% of the area will be kept for roads, parks, and other public spaces, and no roads will be less than 9 meters wide. The commercial component should be limited to 4%, and colonies with 20 acres or more should have 500 square meters of land for community building,”
according to the DTP.
